Book Week

Willandra Primary School hold Book Week activities in Term 3 each year.  The Library have storytelling sessions with Kindergarten and Pre Primary students.  We also have an Annual Book Week Parade and assembly which have a massive turnout of students and staff dressing up as their favourite book characters. One year, the P & C organised a photo session with Darth Vader and his Storm Troupers.

Ted's 12th Birthday

Willandra Primary School celebrated Ted's 12th Birthday with a day of activities.  The Kindergarten – Year 3 classes attended a ‘Caring for Pets’ visit with Old MacDonald’s Animal Farm. This visit was cut short with bad weather and Old MacDonald’s farm kindly re-visited on Wednesday 16th for the classes who missed the first session. Students enjoyed this contact with the animals and there were many special moments shared.

The senior students from Years 4 - 6 attended a one hour presentation with a guest speaker, Brett Warner from the IF Foundation, who talked about focussing on making good choices.  Students participated well and gained valuable insight into self-respect and respect for others.

TED’s Assembly, Family picnic and balloon release were shared with members of the school community, it was a great afternoon.  Bronze TED awards were presented at the assembly, along with a special TED birthday award presented to one student from each class.
