WHAT TIME SHOULD STUDENTS ARRIVE AT SCHOOL
8.15 a.m. is the recommended time for students to arrive at school.
Students arriving without parents/guardians before 8.15am, must assemble and sit in the undercover area to be supervised by admin delegates.
To ensure safety and organisation in the event of an evacuation, parents and guardians arriving before 8.15am must also sit in the undercover area.

HOW CAN I PURCHASE UNIFORMS
Uniform orders can be purchased online from the School Uniform Shop.

WHAT HAPPENS IF STUDENTS ARRIVE LATE
Children who arrive after 8.30 a.m. are expected to go directly to the office to collect a late note. If parents do not accompany the students, the teacher will send a note home with the child for their parents to sign and return to the class teacher.

CAN MY CHILD LEAVE THE SCHOOL GROUNDS DURING NORMAL HOURS

Children are not permitted to leave the school site without permission from the school or parent. A Leave Pass for outside appointments must be completed by a parent or nominated adult. The Leave Pass must be collected from the front office and delivered to the classroom teacher prior to collecting students.

WHAT HAPPENS IF STUDENTS ARE ABSENT

Willandra Primary School use SMS for absence notifications. ​​Please message 0448 793 568 and include your child's name, date and reason for the absence. It is recommended that you SMS or contact the school to advise office staff of your child's absence - indicating the reason for absence.

WHAT HAPPENS IF PARENTS ENTER THE SCHOOL DURING SCHOOL HOURS
All parents and community members entering the school during normal hours of operation are required to sign the visitors' book in the front office.

IS THE SCHOOL AIR-CONDITIONED
There is ducted evaporative air-conditioning installed throughout the school.

WHERE CAN'T I PARK
The two staff car parks on Chidzey Drive are only available to staff and vehicles with the appropriate permissions. The council visit our school regularly and will fine where necessary for parking that endangers students safety. Please observe the parking signs. Please observe Kiss and Drive protocols. Families parking around the school are asked to consider the school's neighbours and not park on their verge or block driveways.

DO I NEED TO PRESENT IMMUNISATION RECORDS
On admission to school, parents must present their child's up to date Immunisation History Statement from the Australian Immunisation Register, which can be accessed from MyGov after logging into your Medicare account. AIR General Enquiries 1800 653 809.

ARE CHILDREN IMMUNISED AT SCHOOL
No.

ARE HATS COMPULSORY
Children are required to wear a broad brimmed hat all year round available from the uniform shop for all outdoor activities. Sun damage is common in our Australian climate: The regular use of broad spectrum SPF30+ sunscreen is also recommended.

ARE IN-SCHOOL HEALTH SERVICES PROVIDED

Our school nurse deals with routine matters and special referrals. Junior children are screened and parents are advised of any concerns.

HOW DOES THE SCHOOL DEAL WITH CHRONIC OR SERIOUS HEALTH PROBLEMS
Children with asthma, diabetes, severe allergic reactions, heart problems or any diagnosed health concern are identified on enrolment. A Medical Action Plan is developed (and updated annually) to ensure that proper emergency procedures are in place. Information is then passed on to staff.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILD IS SICK AT SCHOOL

Parents are encouraged to keep sick children at home. Minor injuries are treated at school but parents will be contacted when the injury or illness requires further attention.

CAN MY CHILD HAVE MEDICATION AT SCHOOL
Yes. Parents must bring the medication to school in a pharmaceutical box labelled with the child's name. Parents must complete an authority form for administration staff to administer medication. Medication will not be administered without a written authority from parents.

IS THERE DENTAL THERAPY AVAILABLE

There is a free service operating at Armadale Dental Therapy Centre, based at Armadale Primary School, Carradine Road, Armadale. Telephone 9399 4546. The service provides continuous, preventative dental care for each enrolled child.

IS THERE A SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST
Our Deputy Principal, Di Abernethy, manages all teacher and parent referrals. Parental permission and assistance is a key part of the referral process. Following a set testing procedure, a child-specific plan may then be implemented.
The school Psychologist will be involved in testing and case management as required.

WHEN ARE SCHOOL ASSEMBLIES
Class assemblies commence at 8.30 a.m every Thursday. All parents are invited to attend. A schedule will be provided to enable parents to see when their child's class is rostered to host the assembly.

IS THERE BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL CHILD CARE AVAILABLE
Our school has OSH Club facilities onsite to provide before and after school care.
The OSH Club is situated in TA 12 Cluster Three. There are also several external Child Care providers who drop off and pick up at our school.

CAN I BRING PETS TO SCHOOL
In order to ensure the safety and welfare of everyone on the school grounds, please do not bring pets on school grounds without permission from the Principal or school delegate.
