Library

At Willandra Primary School, our bright and welcoming library provides a calm and inviting space for all students to enjoy. Managed by our Library Officers, Mrs Sutton and Mrs Sarti, the library supports a love of reading and learning across the school.

Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 visit the library each week to borrow books and are encouraged to bring a library bag to help protect them. Library bags are available for purchase from the school administration office.

Students enjoy a range of experiences including story time, independent reading, and research using both books and digital resources. These opportunities support students in developing a lifelong love of reading and building their information skills.

Year 6 students have the opportunity to become library helpers, developing responsibility, leadership skills, and a sense of contribution to the school community.

The library also celebrates a range of whole-school events, including Book Week, National Simultaneous Storytime, Ted’s Birthday, ANZAC Day, and NAIDOC Week. These events are supported by vibrant displays and activities, including dress-up parades, helping to create excitement and engagement across the school.

Overall, the library is a thriving and inclusive space where students are encouraged to explore, discover, and enjoy reading. There is always something new to find — there truly is something for everyone.
