Physical Education
At Willandra Primary School, we value the participation of all students in our Physical Education program. We are committed to providing an inclusive environment where every child can engage at their own level and experience success.
Our Physical Education program begins in Pre-Primary, where students develop essential skills including underarm and overarm throwing, catching, balancing, and general gross motor development.
Our lessons are designed to be fun, engaging, and supportive, while also providing opportunities for students to develop fundamental movement skills and confidence. A variety of activities ensures students are exposed to a broad range of sports, games, and skill-building experiences.
Our program is structured around seasonal sports:
Summer sports include cricket, volleyball, tennis, ball skills, and general fitness.
Winter sports focus on netball, football, soccer, and cross country running.
For students who enjoy competition, we offer faction and interschool carnivals, where they can participate in events such as long jump and triple jump.
Senior students have the opportunity to be involved in the Eagles Cup Competition, an interschool program held on Friday afternoons during Term Two. Students compete against other schools in football, soccer and netball.
Overall, our Physical Education program is thriving and continues to grow. With a strong emphasis on fun, participation, and enjoyment, we aim to foster a lifelong love of physical activity in all students.
